When Reading Jumps Off the Page

We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how to help children be excited about reading, and one thing that we’ve personally found really works is to make reading come alive. Play dress-ups and make believe you’re part of your favorite book. Talk about your favorite stories later and what you learned from them. Make reading part of play rather than separate from it. To that end, we’ve starting designing activities to go with each of the books we send out each month as a starting point to involve your kids in discussions and activities that bring reading off the page.

Here’s a look at some things you can do with your kids this month.

For the younger crew, this month we’re focused on If Big Can I Can, Lionel and Molly: Opposites, and Chuckling Ducklings.IMG_2063-min
